Mounting electronic shifting systems challenges the most prolific of bike mechanics. When small frames, recumbents, or adaptive cycles are involved, the standard battery mounts don't accommodate. This mount accepts the small Di2 or EPS battery mounts and comes with zip ties to attach that battery anywhere on the frame you need it.
Many moons ago Surly began producing the Pugsley because they wanted to ride a bike that could be ridden where other bikes simply faltered. In order to do that wthey figured this bicycle needed to have floatation and traction the likes of which have never before been seen. Pugsley Surly`s brilliant solution to this - and it seems to work. This bike rolls through all the sloppiest slop around.
The Pugsley frame is equipped with 135mm spaced horizontal rear-loading dropouts with a derailleur hanger. The rear end of the frame is offset 17.5mm so any type of drivetrain setup can be used without having to worry about chain-on-tire rub. Pugsley frames also comes with an internal ED coating, which is a process that coats the frame inside and out with a protective layer that provides a foundation for the finish and gives an added level of protection from corrosion on the inside of the frame. We still recommend treating your frame with a protectant such as Framesaver or Boeshield.
